COLOR-BLENDED
FINISHES A soft blend of related paint colors,
used for such looks known as “old world”,
“Tuscan”, “sueded”, or “color-washed”.
Color-blended finishes can give the look of aged plaster
without using real plaster. These finishes are also the
base for sky scenes and multi-layered marble finishes.

GLAZE
FINISHES Glazing is using a translucent
color or colors over a painted base color. A variety
of looks can be achieved, depending on the tool and technique
used to apply the glaze. Glazes are used for leather,
parchment, and “tea-stained” looks, striaes
and woven- fabric looks. Glazes are also used for an
antiqued look on painted wood trim.
